When to begin your research
Ideally, you need to begin your research as soon as possible. Do not wait until the week of the due date. Research takes time to gather the sources, research, think everything through, write and rewrite the paper. Also, if you need to request anything using the interlibrary loan services, it can take up to 10 business days for your request to be delivered. It is not an automated system.
You need to have a plan and follow through with it.

To come up with a good topic, follow these guidelines:
Know your assignment parameters
Speak with your professor and your librarian about the assignment and any ideas
Skim textbook for general topics pertaining to your subject
