To be able to use the equipment in the library you must acknowledge and agree to the following policy:
- There are two types of materials in the buckets that may be checked out to complete the labs: 'disposables' and 'equipment'
- These will be listed on a sheet included in the bucket.
- You many only use the number of 'disposables' listed in the experiment, excessive use of 'disposables' will result in termination of the earth science materials privileges in the library.
- The 'equipment' must be returned in the same condition in which it was checked out (dry, clean, unbroken)
- If equipment is accidentally broken, your student account will be charged for replacement.
- If it is clear that materials where intentionally damaged, your account will be charged, your privileges will be terminated and an academic integrity violation will be filed.
- You may only use the equipment in the location set aside by the library staff.
- This location must be left better than it was found.
- You must be kind and courteous to the library staff, their only responsibility is to check out the equipment and be sure that you have cleaned up the space. If something is amiss please contact your instructor or Dr. Payne (if she is not your current instructor)
- You need to sign up for a time in the Library Conference Room to use the kits.
- Note - You are limited to 1.5 hours to complete your lab. When you click on the link to make a reservation, make sure your reservation time is 1.5 hours or less. You will get an error message when you try to make a reservation that exceeds this amount.
- These kits may not leave the library.
- You may have a lab partner if you wish but you MUST submit assignments independently. Written answers should always be in your own words.
- If you are working with another student you must somehow indicate that in the first free response question.
